Description
At the core of the TIS approach to education is that it should be “joyful, meaningful and challenging”. This is great learning and students exposed to this approach will always achieve more both academically and socially.
The child is at the centre of all that we are doing, and our approach is broad and balanced, to help raise them ready for the future. A future that in some ways is known and in many ways is not. We are in an age where skills are just as important as knowledge.
We take great pride in the way lessons are taught, and we use Quantum Learning (from the USA) to do this. It enables teachers to have the greatest impact on the learning of students. In 2020, we were acknowledged as the first Quantum Learning Distinguished School in the World, which is something that we are very proud of, as it recognises the quality of our teachers from an American perspective. Equally we are very proud to have received the Reader's Digest trusted brand Award since 2016. This award voted for by Malaysian parents is a great recognition of what we have been doing.
Our teachers are focused on our students and their learning. We believe that understanding is the key to knowledge, which will then naturally lead to great exam results. Students are encouraged to be critical learners and to be involved in their own learning. In a similar manner, we believe that we must continually update our teachers with the latest ideas and methodologies so that they can use them to stimulate our students creatively and academically.
Activities outside of the typical classroom are an integral part of our school life. There are many activities for our students to participate in, be that during school (CCA), or after school (ECA). We have had great success in the sports field with inter-school competitions, and with Performing Arts, where our school productions really have been the talk of the town.
A school would not be doing their job properly without educating a child to work with people and to fit into a community. We believe that social awareness and character building are very important and take every opportunity to reinforce good character traits. CSR projects are central to this theme.
TIS has two campuses in the Klang Valley. TISKL is now 30 years old, and is located just to the east of the city centre near the Royal Selangor Golf club. Our Puchong campus (TISPC) is located at the southern end of Puchong, alongside the LDP on the way to CyberJaya. This award winning campus opened in 2015, and has quickly become the ‘go to’ campus in that part of the city. These two campuses follow the same ethos and approach but have slightly different flavours.
Please take a few minutes to look around this site, and do contact us if you’re interested to find out more about our programmes, or better still, come and visit our campuses for a real experience of what international schools can offer.
